Task #1

Find out types of uncompressed audio formats

An audio file format is a file format for storing audio data on a computer system. It can be a raw bitstream, but it is usually a container format or an audio data format with defined storage layer.

There is one major uncompressed audio format, PCM, which is usually stored as a .wav on Windows or as .aiff on Mac OS. WAV and AIFF are flexible file formats designed to store more or less any combination of sampling rates or bitrates. This makes them suitable file formats for storing and archiving an original recording. There is another uncompressed audio format which is .cda (Audio CD Track) .cda is from a music CD and is 0% compressed.

Uncompressed audio formats is such as WAV, AIFF, AU or raw header-less PCM.

WAV
The WAV format, sometimes known as "WAVE," or "Waveform," was developed originally by Microsoft. The WAV format's purpose is to store audio information. WAVs have been used for many years as a way for computer users to have access to certain audio sounds (WAV files).

Advantages
• WAV files are "lossless" files. This means that the WAV file doesn't lose any of its quality when it is stored.
• WAV files can be considered High Fidelity, where MP3 files cannot.
• WAV files can be edited or they can be manipulated relatively easily. You can even manipulate WAV files with the built-in Windows Sound Recorder.
Disadvantages
• WAV files don't have the same sorts of compression rates that MP3 files have.
• WAV file is larger than an MP3 file, taking up much more space on your computer's hard drive.
• WAV files are limited in size to 4 Gigabytes. While this is more than 6 hours of audio, there is no the same limitation with other audio file formats.

Find out types of lossy compression audio formats

Lossy compression is a data encoding method which discards (loses) some of the data, in order to achieve its goal, with the result that decompressing the data yields content that is different from the original, though similar enough to be useful in some way.

Formats with lossy compression is such as MP3, Vorbis, Musepack, AAC, ATRAC and lossy Windows Media Audio (WMA).


Advantage

• The MP3 has distinct advantages as a digital audio file format. There are actually
• several audio files formats, but the MP3 is one of the most common. For example, if you are ripping (copying) music from a CD, it is usually converted into either an MP3 or an MP4 (for Apple users).
• When you download music from any of the available online media sites, the songs will automatically download as an MP3 or MP4.

What do I know?

based on what we've learned today is that there is material in the original CD can
not be copied to the computer with ease. even if copied, the copied material such as songs can not be played after the original CD is removed from the computer. this is due to the security natural CD itself is reserved to the original title.


What I need to know?

what we need to know is the original material from the original CD can be copied to the computer and materials or the song can be played using special software. Therefore, this software can change the material or songs that can not be played to be played by changing the CDA to MP3 format.

What do I know?

what we know is that after changing CDA to MP3 format, songs that are initially copied from the original CD can not play but have to play even though the CD has been released from the original computer.

What I need to know?

what we need to know is the song that was copied from the original CD was completed with the security aspects that can not be used as a tiruan.tetapi using special software, CDA format can be converted to MP3 format to play on the computer while the CD is the format native dikeluarkan.MP3 the most suitable because it is more readily available at present.
