PROBLEM BASED LEARNING

Today , I have learn about problem based learning . Problem Based Learning is a student-centered instructional strategy in which students collaboratively solve problems and reflect on their experiences.. There are some of characteristic about PBL as well as learning is driven by challenging, open-ended, ill-defined and ill-structured, practical problems, students generally work in collaborative groups. Problem based learning environments may be designed for individual learningTeachers take on the role as "facilitators" of learning and learners are responsible for their own education which it increasingly capability ownself to develop and applicate their education in real situation.
Through PBL student can learn how to solve skills ,ability to work on a team , leadership skills, communication skills and many others. In group of PBL have three aspect to do as responsibilities, composition and organization. In responsibilities, we learn to schedule group activities, time management and determine learning issues.Composition for group between 5 to 7 students where we have role as project leader ,facilitators, members.Every members have to do identifying learning issues and nees ,responsibility for their own learning and active role in learning. According NASA to solve problem as

MY REPORT
Problem-Based Learning meaning is students learn by listening to lectures and reading, and are assessed on their ability to recall and communicate what they have learned. With problem-based learning, students are assessed on their ability to go through a problem solving process. Through this topic, students learn about problem-solving skills, self-directed learning skills, ability to work on a team, leadership skills, communication skills, Measurable knowledge base, Ability to find/use appropriate resources Critical thinking, Performance ability, Social and ethical skills and Proactive thinking Congruence with workplace skills. In fact, on this topic we can analyze the problem of individual and a group.
Reasons for using Problem-Based Learning is low retention when taught in a traditional lecture format (Bok 1989). Infrequent appropriate use of knowledge learned (Schmidt 1983). Conditions that optimize retrieval and appropriate use of knowledge in future professional practice.
According to Schmidt and Moust, "The Seven Jump" method have some of important things among is :
1. Clarify unknown terms and concepts.
2. Define problem(s).
3. Analyze problem.
Step 1:Brainstorm.
4. Analyze problem.
Step 2:Discuss.
5. Formulate learning issues
(self-directed).
6. Fill in gaps through self-study.
7. Share findings, integrate into comprehensive explanation. Check whether you know enough now.
Besides that, according to the Classroom of the Future (NASA) is :
1. Read and analyze problem.
2. List what is known.
3. Develop problem statement.
4. List what the group needs to find out.
5. List possible actions.
6. Analyze information.
7. Present findings

Problem based learning
Today I have learning about a problem based learning. It is part of the subject I learned that call a instructional design. A problem based learning is an exciting alternative to traditional classroom learning. With problem based learning, your teacher presents you with a problem, not lectures or assignments or exercises.Since you are not handed "content", your learning becomes active in the sense that you discover and work with content that you determine to be necessary to solve the problem. Based on this topic we can analysis the problem of individual and a group.
Reason for using problem based learning because its can activation of prior knowledge, similarity of contexts and elaboration. Problem based learning can do in group and individuals. In group we can know our responsibilities, composition and organition some problem. While in individuals, we can know how to generalizations, according to Schmidt and Moust. We also can according to NASA.

Problem based learning is a motivating way to learn as learners are involved in active learning, working with real problems and what they have to learn in their study is seen as important and relevant to their own lives.

My Report

Today, what have I learning is about Prolem-Based Learning (PBL). It is one of the program which is the learners must face with the real problem. It is also one of the process which is the learners should solve the problem by themselves. In fact, the learners which facing with any of the problem, Problem-Based Learning will be a basic for a learner center.
Problem comes with solution. Each of the problem have the different solution or way to solve it. It is because problem is not a shape. So, there are many possible solutions to settle any problems that comes to the students. There also should have their own mentor or teacher to guide them on how to learn the problem-solving skills.
Next, from this PBL, students can learn on how to solve the problem or in other way, it is call the problem-solving skills. Furthermore, students also learn about leadership skills, communication skills, critical thinking and others. In addition, their performance ability also can be improve step by step.
The students can make a group. From this group, they can discuss the problems and find the solutions quickly. Members of the group must arrange the schedule and set their time correctly. They should decide how to use the time.
